The Cloud v2.0: Re-visiting where the future of business is headed Posted on October 9, 2018

They are accessible anywhere an internet connection is available – this includes SMART phones and iPhones.

They are changing the way small businesses do things. Read below about a story of a client of ours who reduced his accounts receivable by half, simply by improving his use of technology.

Here at Robson Partners, we often remind businesses in our workshops of a gentleman by the name of Charles Darwin.

Charles Darwin said, “it’s not the strongest, nor the most intelligent of species that survives – rather it’s the species that is most adaptable to change”.

The same can be said of business.

The businesses that adapt to change – in this example, changes to technology – are more likely to survive.

The cloud is one such change that is occurring in the market place.

When I discussed with my client the reasons for his cash flow issues, he said that “quite often after providing his service (he installs air conditioners both residentially and commercially) he was given a promise to pay overnight via the internet”.

My client, being an honest, trusting, hard working tradesman, had been accepting this promise for a number of years, which consistently left him with money to chase up and in some cases, having to make a claim at the CTTT.

I asked him “do you have an iPAD?” to which he said, “I install air conditioners…what does having an iPad have to do with air conditioners?”

My response was “everything!”

I said to him “well if you have an iPAD as part of your business processes, you could simply produce the iPAD on site and the client could login to their internet banking on the spot, and make the necessary EFT to you immediately.”

His eyes lit up, the penny dropped and my client said, “that’ll work”.

Literally overnight my client’s collection issues began to dry up and he was paid on the spot.

The moral of the story is, how are you making use of the cloud in your business and are you aware of the applications that could apply to your business to improve things like cash flow?

Come to our Blueprint Workshop where we share with you how the cloud is making life easier for small business owners, reducing costs and improving efficiencies.
