Money tips for Christmas Posted on November 22, 2019

Lights

Christmas can be an expensive time of year. Here are our tips to be better off this Christmas so that you can enjoy a truly special holiday season.

  1. Have an eagle eye for deals – Spend as much time as you need browsing the shops and websites to know the best deals. Signing up to e-marketing materials from your favourite retailers or brands can be a good way to track specials.
  2. List out the items before you buy them. This approach helps to contain accidental overspending but doesn’t interfere with the joy of giving something wonderful to those you love.
  3. Know how much you’ve got to spend and keep track of it. Use an app like ‘Track my Spending’, your phone notes or a simple notebook and pen.
  4. Avoid Christmas credit. Credit Card debt and interest rates exacerbate and prolong the expense of Christmas. We also recommend against Buy Now Pay Later services.

Happy shopping!
