AdviceCo donates $6,000 Coastlink Posted on October 6, 2020
At AdviceCo, our community program enables us to raise funds to support charitable foundations in their important work. We are delighted to have recently raised $6,000 in partnership with our team and the Count Charitable Foundation for Coastlink, an important charity helping vulnerable members of our community to link to services and equal opportunity lifestyle supports in the Central Coast area.
Coastlink is also a valued client, and is one of a number of Not-For-Profit organisations we work with for financial structure, sustainability and security so that they can focus on improving the lives of those they serve.
Established in 1985 here on the Central Coast, Coastlink has grown to become a leading supplier of disability and aged-care support. Their mission is to create a world where everyone enjoys a life of choice and inclusion, and they achieve this through various social programs and activities, NDIS de-coding and planning, linking with other service providers to match specific needs, respite options and companionship.
John Davis is the CEO and says: “2020 has been a year like no other and one that saw Coastlink constantly evolve in the face of a global health crisis, to ensure the best possible care and support for the vulnerable people we are responsible for every day.
The role that Coastlink plays in nurturing the holistic wellbeing of more vulnerable members of our community is invaluable. We are blown away by the positive imprint they have on people’s lives and a therefore really pleased to be able to make a financial contribution to their great work.
“Financial donations like this help us to minimise the extreme vulnerability and isolation that people living with disability and the aged can experience and will help us to empower them to live independent, fun and fulfilling lives, while connecting with others and contributing to society,” said John.
Coastlink is focussed now on increasing accommodation options for people living with disability on the Central Coast. Coastlink has been appointed as the Supported Independent Living (SIL) provider for two new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) sites set to open in Gosford this month.
Ability Apartments Gosford Central and Ability Apartments Showground Road are the vision of pioneering SDA providers, Ability SDA, and feature 20 specially designed, state-of-the-art apartments within larger residential complexes, to support independent integrated living for people with disability. Coastlink will provide 24-hour support for residents, creating more than 60 new carer positions with our organisation.
“AdviceCo has helped us set our strategic direction by streamlining our finances with professional service and advice, and now being selected as a financial recipient of your generous community donation program further supports us to achieve our mission of helping every person in our care live a life of choice and inclusion,” said John.
