Cost of Living stress Posted on April 23, 2022
The cost of living is worrying Australians. Consumers have been spooked in recent weeks by eye-watering petrol prices and grocery costs. The Central Coast has the added pressure of rising council rates and property/rental prices to boot.
Nervousness remains, with the war in Ukraine set to continue to disrupt oil supply and the cost of fuel likely to cost you more at the bowser and beyond to the checkout.
If you think other costs have gone up, you’re not imagining things. Since August 2018, many everyday expenses have significantly increased. Meat, childcare and medical costs have risen exponentially.
With this trend likely to be ongoing for the foreseeable future, it is wise to practice healthy finance habits that will assist in maintaining control. We emphasise the importance of household budgeting. When you have a cap on spending within certain cost areas, you can take actions accordingly.
