AdviceCo team doing things from a (social) distance Posted on August 10, 2021
COVID has put a dampener on many events and traditions for all of us in Greater Sydney, including some of AdviceCo’s social traditions. The disappointment was real when we had to cancel our End of Financial Year lunch and monthly team meetings, but we weren’t going to give up so easily. With most of our team working from home, we had to get creative to keep the connection strong, and what better excuse than the recent Olympics.
David and Troy generously arranged for a bunch of green and gold balloons to be delivered to the homes of everyone in our team. The surprise delighted whole households and the note reminded us that we can all join together in backing the Aussies in the Olympics.
Each staff member also received a voucher to spend at Singos Meats for our virtual Olympics BBQ. We logged in on 5 August and it felt great to take pause and connect as a team as best we can under current restrictions. We even had everyone’s dog make an appearance.
Life can be hard at the moment, but teams, connections and conversations are not cancelled, so we hope you are OK and can connect with your colleagues, friends and families in safe and creatively remote ways.
