NSW Budget: what it means for the Central Coast Posted on July 9, 2021
The 2021-2022 NSW Budget announced in June includes funding for the Central Coast region. Here are the notes from the NSW Government website on what we can expect locally…
Education
- $16.1 million in 2021-22 to complete the new Porters Creek Public School in Warnervale.
Health
- $32.9 million in 2021-22 (as part of a $200 million project) for the Wyong Hospital Redevelopment.
Regional NSW
- $11 million in 2021-22 to improve sports ground infrastructure at 17 sites across the Central Coast, including lighting upgrades, new drainage, and irrigation.
Customer Service
- $5.4 million in 2021-22 for the Critical Communications Enhancement Program, creating a single, interoperable Public Safety Network for all Emergency Service Organisations.
Transport
- $27.8 million in 2021-22 to continue construction for widening the Pacific Highway to four lanes between Parsons Road and Ourimbah Street at Lisarow.
- $12.7 million in 2021-22 to continue planning for a new rail alignment between Woy Woy and Northern Sydney to improve travel times between Sydney, Newcastle and Port Macquarie (State and Federal funded).
- $6.7 million in 2021-22 to continue planning for the upgrade of Manns Roads between Stockyard Place and Narara Creek Road (State and Federal funded).
- $6.0 million in 2021-22 to continue planning for the upgrade of the Central Coast Highway, between Tumbi Road, Wamberal and Bateau Bay Road.
- $4.0 million in 2021-22 to continue planning for the upgrade of the Pacific Highway through Wyong Town Centre.
Restart Funding
- $28.0 million Restart funding commitments in 2021-22 (as part of a $62.0 million Restart package) allocated directly to Central Coast local authorities and organisations for infrastructure building, renewal and upgrade, including:
- $13.5 million in 2021-22 (as part of a $30.0 million Restart package) for Gosford City Centre Sewerage Infrastructure
- $5.6 million in 2021-22 (as part of a $8.5 million Restart package) for Warnervale Town Centre Water and Sewer; and
- $2.1 million in 2021-22 (as part of a $6.9 million Restart package) for Mardi Water Treatment Plant Upgrade.
