Think Small and Accomplish Great Things Posted on October 9, 2018
Is there a mysterious time management system we need to know? By just thinking big you can paralyse yourself.
– First, decide on what your goals are for the future. Be clear on what you want to achieve and by when.
– Next, think big while taking small steps, consistently towards your goals. Small steps are what you take ‘now’ to move you towards your goals, which makes your goals achievable.
– Next, create a manageable program of strategic small steps. Be tactical. Ensure you stay on track and don’t get distracted.
Great things are accomplished through many small steps, breaking down the goal into achievable task. Anyone who has attempted to hike 30 kilometers, knows it’s simply a case of one foot in front of the other.
How do you know what small steps to take?
Start by asking yourself, “What one small thing can I do, right now, that will move me towards my big goal?”
Don’t give up if the answer doesn’t come to you immediately; have patience and allow the answer to bubble up to the surface.
If the answer still doesn’t come to you, ask other people for help. Talk to supportive people.
Write down the steps. Write in pencil so you can re-arrange them until they feel right. Tweak them as time moves forward – things change!
I’m encouraging you to do both: Set big goals and think small tasks, and you will succeed.
