After working in the commercial construction industry as a construction foreman, Mark, like many other small business owners decided to start his own business, Coastal Construction & Building, to have more flexibility and time to work on personal developments as well as having more control over his own projects and running of the business.

With over 15 years’ experience in the construction and building industry, Coastal Construction & Building Pty Ltd is one of the more experienced new and existing home builders on the Central Coast.

Mark comments, “While our forte is custom building and design, we also specialise in commercial and industrial design and construction.”

Mark is continually working on improving systems to provide a better product and service for his clients, realising what a challenging time it can be when undertaking a construction project.

Coastal Constructions has been a member of 10X Business Coaching for over 12 months. Mark explains that 10X has provided him with added support when making difficult decisions to improve the company, as well as learning and developing new systems for the business.

Since the business was first established in 2007 the turnover has doubled each year.

Going foward for the next 12 months, Mark is aiming to be known in the marketplace as a choice of builder to turn to for advice and projects. With the majority of work coming from word of mouth, Coastal Construction’s reputation is excelling.

Mark explains one of the key elements to running a successful business is the team behind you. “I have an excellent team of contractors I use for their quality and experience that work well with clients and I am always receiving positive feedback.”

A positive that Mark has also taken from participating in 10X and the improvement it has made on his business, is that it has allowed Mark more flexibility and less stress from running your own business.
